DKM SHOW – THE PARADISE 3/20/2011 DETAILS

Some of you may be aware that there are currently tickets available online for a Dropkick Murphys show at The Paradise in Boston on Sunday March 20th. Please do not buy these tickets from anyone other than through us as Ticketmaster will be doing a recall of all those tickets this week. Unfortunately, this show went on-sale without our approval.

The band had planned to perform a small club show for friends, family and fans to benefit the Claddagh Fund. We are going to donate all the money from this show to charity. For some reason Ticketmaster decided to post the link for the tickets before we gave them permission to do so. Consequently the ticket scalpers seemed to have been notified before anyone else and managed to scoop up about 95% of the tickets before we even knew what was happening. The opposite of what we planned!

So we have asked Ticketmaster to withdraw the tickets for the show and we are going to properly announce the show via the Claddagh Fund website & mailing list this Friday and will have new tickets available for sale this Saturday.

To be able to attend this show you will need to make a $40 donation + $2 handling fee per person to the Claddagh Fund which will get you entry to this intimate club show. THERE WILL BE NO HARD TICKETS FOR THIS SHOW. There is a 4 ticket maximum purchase per person for this show. The person making the donation for the tickets will either give us their name which will be put on a list at the venue on show day or you will be able to give us the name of one other person who is attending the show whose name will be on the list. You must give us the will call name for entry at the time of your purchase and that name will be added to a list that will be at the door on show day and can not be changed under any circumstances once you have made your donation. If your name is not on the donation list you will not be able to enter the show. You will need to show photo ID to enter this event.

On the bright side of all this you will be able to avoid Ticketmaster’s exorbitant ticketing fees of $17+ shipping! This will hopefully also minimize the scalpers control over these tickets.

We can not stress this enough, please do not buy tickets from Ticketmaster or any of the after-market ticket sellers for the 3/20/2011 show. You will not be able to get into the event with hard tickets. You can only gain entry to this show with your $42 per person donation direct to the Claddagh Fund. The Claddagh Fund will be posting more details about the show and how to gain entry to it this Friday, February 4th and the donation process will start on Saturday February 5th at 10am EST, ONLY through the Claddagh Fund website. If you are not on that mailing list already you better sign up now:

If you are one of the handful of fans that were able to legitimately purchase tickets yesterday Ticketmaster will be refunding your money. We are sincerely sorry for this screw up. We know how hard it is to buy tickets for the Boston shows and it bothers us as much as it does you guys when the scalpers seem to get hold of so many tickets. It’s not like we’ll ever see them making a donation to our charity! We want to offer all our friends, family & fans an equal playing field to get into our shows not just the people that can afford to buy over-priced after-market tickets.

Please note there is no guest list for this show. It’s for charity people! Anyone who is thinking about hitting us up for free entry, please don’t. Please think of others less fortunate than yourself & make a donation to the Claddagh Fund!

Thank-you,
Al, Tim, Ken, Jeff, Matt, James & Scruffy
