Dropkick Murphys are pleased to announce their annual St. Patrick’s Day Tour, kicking offFebruary 18 in Cleveland and wrapping up on St. Patrick’s Day with 6 shows—five of which are already sold out—in their hometown of Boston. The band’s longtime friends Lucero will be the tour’s special guest, and Skinny Lister will open.
Dropkick Murphys are still reeling from their performance at Game 6 of the World Series at Fenway Park which saw the Boston Red Sox win the championship. The band performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” as well as their beloved Boston anthem “I’m Shipping Up To Boston.” This marks the 6th time the band has performed at a Red Sox game and continues their perfect winning record of 6-0, suggesting they are a good luck charm for the Boston team.
The St. Patrick’s Day tour is the latest highlight for Dropkick Murphys: Their current release,SIGNED and SEALED in BLOOD (Born & Bred Records), debuted at #9 on Billboard’s Top 200 and received overwhelming critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, NPR, USA Today, Stereogum, and more. They performed on The Today Show, Conan, The Late Show with David Letterman and Coachella Festival, and made radio history with “The Season’s Upon Us” – the first holiday song to chart on the U.S. Alternative and Modern Rock radio charts. In the midst of this banner year, the band also raised and distributed over $300,000 for those affected by the Boston Marathon Bombings through their charitable organization The Claddagh Fund, thanks to their fan’s support of a limited edition FOR BOSTON t-shirt, an EP release with Bruce Springsteen, and a House of Blues benefit show.
